It's a match!
We met on the upcoming "Sheytoon" Persian dating app and after nearly months (no really years) of aimless swiping, we found, on November 19, 2019, the one worth traveling many miles for!
If you know Pouya, you know he loves a good steak, so when indoor dining reopened, we decided to take our first dinner date at Michelin-starred restaurant DANTE in Tremont, Cleveland on September 18, 2020.
All smiles for the first of many dinner dates!
The best Friday of our lives!
Pouya sent Sogand on a scavenger hunt to pop the question! On a day she was supposedly working, April 16, 2021 to be exact, little did she know that Pouya was in contact with her boss behind the scenes to give her that day off.
The scavenger hunt consisted of multiple nostalgic locations from throughout their time dating, ultimately leading Sogand to the Georgetown Waterfront in a shiny stretch limo.
Teary-eyed and at a loss for words, Sogand said YES!
Celebrated our love in style!
When asked "what is the one thing you want this party to have?" Pouya responded, "all our friends and family... with either kabob or steak."
So... we had our engagement celebration at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse in Tysons Corner, Virginia on July 10, 2021!
We celebrated with nearly all our loved ones, some of which traveled from afar, and felt very blessed to enter a new stage of life together as fiancés!
This day gave us just a glimpse of what is yet to come in Punta Cana next year with all of you!
We tied the knot!
Well we tied first of two, soon to be three, knots on July 11, 2021 with our immediate family in Manassas, Virginia.
Our Aghd Ceremony took place beside our beautifully curated Sofreh Aghd, or our exquisite spread of symbolic items, in which we held hands, tears of joy, and a life time of "I-Do's" to come!

We eloped with a meaningful ceremony in none other than Cleveland at the Arcade on October 29, 2021!
Getting our marriage license and certificate in the Dominican Republic would be a lengthy process so we thought why not celebrate a second time and keep our anniversary date. Hope to see each and every one of you next year on October 29, 2022 as we tie the knot once more!
